The first german edition appeared in 1648. This map is from the second edition and was published in 1651. The atlas was published in two volumes containing 215 maps. Because the original copperplates of mercator were sold in London between 1621 and 1625, j. Janssonius had new plates made by pieter van den keere and abraham goos. The first edition of atlas minor published by janssonius appeared in 1628. The copperplates were later on used by pieter van der AA. The map is signed "p. Kaerius" in the bottom left corner. Both in the top and bottom right corner there is a light moister stain. The map is guaranteed authentic and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
